Provision
Seamab is a unique residential provision offering professional, child-centred care that is in a safe environment.
Each child who comes to Seamab is an individual and is treated as such but almost every child has experienced trauma in one form or another and is trying to cope with the effects.
Most of the children have never had the opportunity to make a close, secure, attachment to an adult. As a result they have a negative view of themselves and, typically, they find it very difficult to trust adults and to relate appropriately to them.
We believe that a child requires fairness, firmness, affection and cuddles in order to feel secure, to develop a sense of responsibility for their actions and to begin to develop close, trusting, relationships with adults.
