Freedom of information

Calm Where Calm lives. Find out more

As of the 1st September 2016, Seamab is subject to the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (also known as FOISA) and associated Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (also known as EIRs) in respect of its independent special school provision only.

Currently this service is provided by Care and Education Services via the Education Campus. The provision of residential care, even where in place to facilitate schooling, is not subject to FOISA or EIRs.

Under these regulations, Seamab is required to:

  • Produce and maintain a Guide to Information in order to publish the classes of information that it routinely makes available
  • Tell the public how to access the information and what it might cost
  • Answer enquiries for information not included in the Guide.

Seamab is a Scottish public authority under FOI law and it has adopted the Model Publication Scheme produced by the Scottish Information Commissioner. View the Model Publication Scheme at www.itspublicknowledge.info/mps

Please see the guide to Information for details of the information we make available, our charging schedules and how to make a request for information.
