Supporting children to heal and thrive

At Seamab, providing care and education that is safe, nurturing and resilience-building is central to everything that we do. We share a passionate belief that everyday experiences shape children's sense of themselves.

Therapy at Seamab is not something that happens in isolation — it shapes everyday experiences.

Building trust and safety

The development of nurturing relationships and the building of trust is at our core.

We believe that providing reasoned responses to the emotional experiences underpinning challenging behaviours creates pathways for change and opportunities to learn.

Safe, positive relationships

We support our children to feel safe and connected through the development of healthy patterns of relating and communicating.

All staff at Seamab are supported to understand and develop their skills in building safe, positive relationships through PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy).

Integrated working

The therapy team works in the context of common goals and promotes child-centred practice. We work closely with care and education staff to ensure:

  • Assessments are fully developed

  • Interventions are consistently applied

  • A holistic and integrated approach to working with children

Flexible, individual response

Our approach is flexible and aims to listen to the needs of the individual and respond accordingly. We work collaboratively to have a positive impact on teaching, lifelong learning, attainment and emotional health and wellbeing.

Supporting communication and emotion

We recognise that our children may need support with specific areas of learning and development. Central to our support is reflecting on how we can provide communication and emotion-friendly environments and how we, as practitioners, often need to adapt our practice to meet children's needs.
